Varicose Veins

 

What are varicose veins?
The varicose veins are diseases of vein which become dilated, tortuous and lengthy. With these changes there is a loss of the function of draining the blood of members to the heart.

What are the symptoms?
The most common symptoms of varicose veins are a pain in weight (pain tired) legs in mainly in the day and before menstruation and swelling in the legs and ankles especially in the heat.

How is the surgery?
The veins are previously marked on the skin with a special pen. The most damaged veins can be removed with an instrument called fleboextrator and minors, collateral, are removed with needles, crochet.

What is the most common type of anesthesia
Epidural anesthesia and sedation (anesthesia preferential is very safe).

How long the surgery
On average 90 minutes


Recommendations Pre-Operative

  1. Show up on the date for the surgery with 2 hours in advance.
  2. Fast, 8 hours, including liquids;Do not take acetyl salicylic acid (aspirin, buferin, ASA), antiinflammatory drugs(for ex: voltaren, cataflan, etc.
  3. Wax the legs, groin and pubis the day before. Bath on the day of surgery with soap neutral.
  4. Taking all examinations performed.
  5. Do not drink 48 hours before surgery and not using illegal drugs 2 weeks before surgery.
  6. Bath with soap neutral on the day of surgery.
  7. Remove metal objects such as piercing, jewelry, watches, sunglasses.
  8. Bring elastic stockings as medical advice.

Recommendations Post-Operative

  1. Rest for 2 days after surgery. Can every 1 hour 5 to 10 minutes sitting or standing: to make meals, go to the bathroom, ... In the rest of the time: legs high.
  2. Remove the sash on the second day after surgery. Remove in the shower after the sash soak entirely. Do not remove the micropore (the tapes of the skin).
  3. After the withdrawal of the sash until 1 week:Relative rest. Every 1 hour 20 minutes standing or sitting.
  4. Remove the micropore on the fifth day after surgery. Remove in the shower after wet entirely. If you had discrete bleeding do compress for a few seconds to stop the bleeding. If you have points, they will be removed after the return.
  5. Return to the clinic at 1 week after the procedure.
  6. Avoid contact with Sun in areas of bruising.
  7. Apply hirudoid after the 5 th day of surgery.
  8. Entering contact to present any questions.
  9. The use of elastic half will be targeted after 2 weeks.
