Liposuction/ Liposculpture

 

What is Liposuction?
It is a type of surgery to improve body contouring reducing localized fat deposits and is not intended as a method for weight loss.

What is the difference between Liposuction and liposculpture?
Popularly the liposuction is only the withdrawal of fat and liposculpture beyond the withdrawal there is also the injection of fat removed in another region that needs to increase in volume, for example, the gluteal region.

How long the surgery?
On average between 2 to 3 hours.

What type of anesthesia can be to used for this operation?
General, epidural anesthesia or local assisted.

What the period of hospitalization?
It ranges from 6 to 24 hours.

Recommendations Preoperative

  • Fast, 8 hours, including liquids;
  • Do not smoke or use illegal drugs within 2 weeks preceding the surgery;
  • Entering contact with the team, if you have any discomfort as flu, fever and so on.
  • Do not take Acetyl Salicylic acid (Aspirin, Buferin, ASA), medicine for slimming and anti non-hormonal (Voltaren, Cataflan, profenid and other anti-inflammatory). Other drugs and other medicines consult the team as soon as possible;
  • Do not drink within 48 hours of surgery;
  • Bath on the day of surgery with soap neutral;
  • Rest well the previous day before the surgery;
  • Wash and dry the hair on the eve of surgery;
  • Paint the hair up to 5 days before surgery;
  • Bring clothes with opening in front, comfortable pants or baggy coat to leave the hospital,
  • Wax the pubic hair up to 5 days before surgery;
  • Bring tape elastic, abdominal or thoracic track, according to the surgery;
  • Do not use any kind of makeup, jewelry, watches, dark nail polish and etc.Before surgery.

  • Urinate before going to the surgical center.

Recommendations Postoperative

  • When out of bed or in the shower may submit dizziness and up to fainting. In this case it is advisable to go back to bed and stay with the head lower than their feet;
  • It is very common that in the postoperative perineum and vulva, or better, genitalia can to stay swollen.If this occurs we advise the withdrawal of the tape by one day or more until there is improvement;
  • The patient should use tape for a minimum period of 1 month, the ideal is 3 months;
  • Do not check weight in the postoperative period (30 days) because there will be weight gain, the swelling and trauma of surgery;
  • The bruising and swelling are expected and will disappear in large part to 45 days post-operatively, the swelling takes 6 months to complete absorption;
  • Use reparil or hirudoid or if you prefer, arnica ointment in hematomas;
  • The pain will gradually decline during the 1 st week;
  • Bath in the first 2 days, may be in the shower chair and sitting in with aid;
  • Lymphatic drainage post-surgery is recommended for the post-operative swelling backwards more quickly and to avoid irregularities by fibrosis, can be started from Day 4, its preference.
